Fiction and Frappaccinos: FBI Burglars, Upcoming Adaptations, and Optography

Fiction and Frappaccinos
Check in on Fridays to see my favorites from the week.
(Coffee not included)

(1) I'm thoroughly enjoying Book-a-Minute Classics,
described as "the ultra-condensed classic books."
Their take on The Lord of the Rings is my favorite so far.

(2) The Writer's Forensics Blog did a spotlight this week on optography.
Have you heard of it? I hadn't and found it very interesting.
Check it out here.
Pop quiz: Optography appeared in which 1990s movie?

(3) Check out this NYTimes article "Burglars Who Took On F.B.I. Abandon Shadows," which tells the story of a group who robbed the FBI 43 years ago, never got caught, and are now telling their story.

(4) On Tuesday, the creative forces behind Justified paid tribute to Elmore Leonard before the Season 5 premiere. I haven't been able to find a video yet, but read about it here.

(5) What would classic novels be like if
the main character was female instead of male (or vice versa)?
The Barnes & Noble blog has a little bit of fun with
this gender-flipping concept. Check it out here.

(6) And to complement my recent 2014 reading list posts,
check out Buzzsugar's "100 books to read before they're movies."
