Fiction & Frappaccinos: Naked Cumberbatch, Skeezy Pine, and Civic Duty

Fiction and Frappaccinos
Check in every Friday to see my favorites from the week.
(Coffee not included)

(1) "That was a shower of evil." In response to accusations of sexism in Star Trek, JJ Abrams responds by showing Benedict Cumberbatch's deleted shower scene.

(2) Speaking of our Star Trek boys, does anyone remember
Chris Pine in Smokin' Aces?

(3) "The most important thing about jury duty is to follow the instructions." I thought it was not to talk about jury duty. I guess that's just implied...Guess who's going to be getting some ample reading time in the next couple of weeks. This gal.

(4) Now here's something to really get excited about -
Matchbox Twenty AND the Backstreet Boys are both touring this summer!
11-year-old Susan is jumping up and down with indescribable excitement.

Does this picture look familiar?
You probably saw it in

(5) On the writing front, I'm currently experimenting with transposing my novel into third person. The story follows three children and how a 15-year-old murder and the lies of their parents have shaped them, so I'm thinking the first person will be much more effective.

Happy holiday weekend, folks! Get some reading & writing done, please.

  1. The fastest way off jury duty is to say you hate lawyers, and think jaywalkers should be shot on sight. No defense attorney would want you.

I didn't know Pine was in that movie...

  2. Ha - I could probably write a coffee table book on all of the get-out-of-Jury-Duty advice I'm received this past week.

I watched the movie twice before seeing Pine's name in the ending credits and said no, no, he's not in this.
