Guess What: It's May

Guess what Justin - It's MAY!

Sadly, that means National Grilled Cheese Month (#NaGriCheMo) is over. But before you get too teary-eyed, let me point out that May is National BBQ Month (#NaBBQMo) and Hamburger Month. So get those dipping sauces ready and let's start chomping.

Here's where things get real silly, though - May is also National Salad Month. Please tell me - why would I want to eat a salad when I should be focusing on BBQs and burgers? As a tie-in, someone also decided to deem May as National Sweet Vidalia Onion Month. I can guarantee you the sweet vidalia onion dressing is fantastic on salads and I would love some on my burgers.

FYI: Here's what #NaBBQMo
sounds like when you say it out loud:

National Egg Month is also in May. Fun fact: I hate hate hate eggs, so you'll have to go somewhere else to get your egg/writing mash-up (anyone want to take on that one?).

And most importantly, May is Get Caught Reading Month (details here), as well as Short Story Month (details here). In case you were planning on slacking on the reading and writing, you can't possibly justify it now.

Lastly, if you're feeling creative (you better be!), May is National Inventors Month, so get out there (or squirrel away at your desk) and invent something to write about.

  2. They were all new to me, too! After discovering that April was National Grilled Cheese Month, I decided to see what else I was missing out on. Hope you're having a lovely May!

  3. There's a National Salad Month?

I prefer eggs if they're scrambled.

  4. I don't get National Salad Month. I guess someone was feeling optimistic...or maybe it was a rebuttal to National Burger Month?
